EVAS Directors are continuously seeking engagement with chargepoint hosts, in particular Local Authorities. The most recent meeting was with Edinburgh Council in the HQ beside Waverley Station. This first meeting proved informative and productive, with new insight on the running of the network from the viewpoint of the host as well as the problems encountered. Several of the areas were highlighted we will continue to raise with Transport Scotland. Edinburgh have also been developing an EV action plan. As an organisation representings the interests of EV drivers, EVAS welcome our further involvement in this development.
Currently Edinburgh are replacing their fleet of old Elektrobay 7kW chargers with eVolt 22kW units, a very welcome improvement. EVAS also gained some insight into the placement of the original fleet of #JourneyChargers installed by the city, as well as their plans for charging hubs to support EV adoption around the city, including further provision at Park and Rides to encourage drivers to make use of public transport, a major part of the plan’s remit is to reduce traffic in the city.
